In 2009 graduated with honors from Academy for Massage in San Antonio and I am licensed with the TDLR of Texas (MT110421). I started MTBK out of my home in 2012 and then quickly grew into our current location. In 2020 after having to shut down for a couple months we were able to reopen and hit the ground running! We upgraded from a 2 room suite to a 6 room suite and grew from a 5 person staff to a 13 person staff and haven’t looked back.
I have a strong passion for health and wellness and believe that massage is very important along with proper nutrition and exercise. Our focus for MTBK is to help clients feel their best mentally and physically. All of our therapists love helping people so whether you are stressed, have an injury, or need to make some health changes, you have come to the right place!

Favorite current spot in San Antonio?
My favorite spot right now is Bamboo! They have a great happy hour with food and drinks on special. They have great DJs on Friday and Saturday.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies include reading autobiographies of artists, (Johnny Cash, Lenny Kravtiz, etc) going for walks, listening to good music, meditation/playing my sound bowls.
What brings you peace?
Sitting outside on my hammock while listening to the wind and birds. A warm bath with candles. Traveling with my partner.
What is your favorite massage to give?
My favorite massage is a combination of Swedish/Deep Tissue with intuition. Everyone’s massage will not be the same. It is truly based on what’s going on with your body and what I feel your body needs in the moment to feel better and release any unwanted tension, pain, or emotions.
Professional Bio
I graduated from River City Massage School in June 2022, license Number: MT136969.
I got into massage therapy by chance. I co-hosted a sound bowl meditation class and would intuitively feel where people were holding tension in their bodies. I discovered a gift I didn’t know I even had, and with that I went to school so I could help heal people. I love that what I was meant to do, found me. Now I am able to help people feel better in their bodies and experience less pain.

I’ve always wanted to be in the field of pain management and massage therapy came easy to me. School never came easy for me, but when I started massage school in January of 2022 everything clicked. I graduated in August 2022.
My professional goals involve pain management for those struggling with chronic pain.
It has always been my belief that the more we understand our bodies the better life can become.
It is why I strive to educate my clients about one new thing every time they come in to help them understand what is going on within the scope of my practice.

What is your favorite massage to give?
I enjoy helping people feel better, physically and mentally. I believe massage is real therapy that can significantly improve your wellbeing.
Professional Bio
Since becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2009 I have continued learning and expanding my range of specialties in this ever changing, fascinating field to improve not only physical wellness but mental wellness too. I started learning the basics of Swedish and deep tissue massage at Academy for Massage Therapy Training (AMTT) San Antonio and have continued taking various courses throughout my career. I’m well versed in modalities including using hot stones, vacuum cupping, gua sha, and stretching techniques to assist in the various approaches to a clients needs, including prenatal clients, clients with chronic conditions, and anyone combining massage therapy with physical/occupational therapy. I enjoy working on clients with specific needs to develop a wellness plan to improve the quality of physical fitness, mobility and function.
But what I have discovered during my 15 years working with people is how connected our mental/emotional wellness is linked to the body and how stress and tension can manifest itself into debilitating pain. Therefore I developed a 90 minute session specifically to address stress/tension relief by first setting the focus and mindset on the intent of the session and guiding my clients through gentle breathing exercises and light stretching combined with a medium pressure and slow movement during the massage to improve relaxation.
I must say that even after all this time there’s still more to learn and explore! But it’s the connections I make with clients to improve their general well being that truly make this career rewarding and keeps me wanting to pursue this path.

Yajaira
In Memoriam
Yajaira
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved friend and colleague, Yajaira, on October 22nd during a surgery. This unexpected news has left us in shock as we anticipated her return to MTBK.
Yajaira radiated kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her lively personality brightened every space, enhanced by her charming smile and unique style—often featuring chic glasses and eye-catching earrings. She exuded elegance and grace effortlessly.
She enjoyed music festivals, camping trips, and tasty treats like chocolate and gelato. A lover of gardening, baking, DIY projects, treasure-hunting at TJ Maxx, she treasured moments spent with family and friends.
Her dedication shone through in her work; Yajaira consistently sought new techniques to elevate her massage therapy skills while genuinely caring for each client. Her most recent training was in back walking and she loved doing Thai Stretching on her clients.
She leaves behind her husband Art, stepson, parents, two sisters, and a brother. We will honor her memory by remaining strong and positive—qualities that defined her grace and courage.
