Professional Bio
In 2009 graduated with honors from Academy for Massage in San Antonio and I am licensed with the TDLR of Texas (MT110421). I started MTBK out of my home in 2012 and then quickly grew into our current location. In 2020 after having to shut down for a couple months we were able to reopen and hit the ground running! We upgraded from a 2 room suite to a 6 room suite and grew from a 5 person staff to a 13 person staff and haven’t looked back.
I have a strong passion for health and wellness and believe that massage is very important along with proper nutrition and exercise. Our focus for MTBK is to help clients feel their best mentally and physically. All of our therapists love helping people so whether you are stressed, have an injury, or need to make some health changes, you have come to the right place! My goal is to empower our wonderful team of LMT’s and focus on making every customer experience a great one.

How long have you been a LMT?
Since 2017.
Favorite current spot in San Antonio?
My current favorite spot in SA is the Japanese Tea Gardens. It’s so peaceful and beautiful.
What are your hobbies?
During my freetime you can find me diving deep in hair, specifically barbering. I’m currently in school getting my license so when I’m not doing massage I’m usually hanging out at a barber shop! Other than hair I have always leaned heavily around the gym. I grew up playing sports and found my passion in Water Polo and Boxing. Currently I try to keep active by going on hikes, lifting weights and playing with my dogs.
What brings you peace?
Food and my dogs. I try to find peace in everything that I do. That is very important to me but, eating good food and smiles from my dogs make me the happiest.
What is your favorite massage to give?
I like to approach the muscle and tissue more calmly and intentionally. I love giving deep tissue but my method doesn’t necessarily include deep pressure. My mindset is to let the body relax enough so that the muscles can communicate without stress. This intent allows me to engage and manipulate muscle tension that happens with trauma. I apply this method with every client and because we are all so different, each massage is customized to you.

Best Quality Daughter has some of the best vegetarian food in the city, but I’m also partial to my boyfriend’s house – I love our sci-fi show marathons and his big dogs that think they are tiny dogs.
What are your hobbies?
Art! I mostly paint digital pet portraits, but I enjoy any project that lets me get creative. Movies, PC gaming, and losing myself in a good novel are also favorites.
What brings you peace?
Making small moments of time to be still and silent – sometimes the best thing we can do for our mental health is to do nothing at all.
What is your favorite massage to get?
It’s a tie – a Swedish massage to relax, but deep tissue with cupping has opened my eyes to new ways I can take care of myself.
Professional Bio
I have a colorful work history! In addition to over twelve years of customer service experience, I had a seven-year spree of being a costume designer, set decorator, and venue manager for movies, TV, and theatrical productions.
I enjoy the collaborative nature of the team here at Massage Therapy by Krissy, and it brings the best elements of a satisfying job: a place where I can help others with the openness to be creative.

I’m an avid reader of almost every genre, and I love thrifting with my girls.
What brings you peace?

coffee is hard to beat.
What is your favorite massage to give?
Upper body trigger point work and working with clients managing TMJ pain.
Professional Bio
My interest in anatomy and physiology started when I was a medic, but I knew a traditional medical
setting wasn’t for me because it didn’t give people immediate relief. Massage does.
I specialize in deep tissue and trigger point therapy, using slow, targeted movements and stretching
techniques to address muscular imbalances, stress-related tension, and chronic pain. As someone
who has experienced TMJ dysfunction personally, I also have extensive experience working with
TMJ-related head, neck, and jaw tension to help improve mobility and support long-term relief.
I approach every session with a combination of focused therapeutic technique and a calm, client-
centered experience so that your time on the table is both effective and restorative.

Professional Bio
I am a licensed Esthetician and proud graduate of Ogle Beauty School, where I earned a spot on the STARR Team — a recognition given to the top esthetics students in the program. While I am newly licensed, I bring over 12 years of experience in the luxury cosmetics and skincare industry, which has given me a strong foundation in understanding both skin health and the unique needs of each client.
I am certified in advanced treatments such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion, and I am committed to ongoing education so I can continue growing and offering the best care possible. I truly believe that everyone deserves to love the skin they are in. We all have pores, blemishes, and imperfections, but with the right care, skin can feel healthy, radiant, and deeply loved.
What I love most is providing one-on-one treatments that combine real results with a deep sense of relaxation — from customized facials to lifting facial massage. I also believe in the power of at-home care, and I enjoy helping clients create routines that keep their skin looking and feeling its best long after our session ends.

What is your favorite massage to give?
A mixture between lymphatic drainage and sports massage!

I started my massage career in Las Vegas Nevada at the Steiner Education Group, also known as the Utah College of Massage Therapy in October 2008. The 800 hour program came with many modalities, including Russian Sports Massage to Chakra to hydrotherapy and wraps! After a lengthy career of practice I moved to Phoenix Arizona and continued honing in on my craft with many skilled colleagues. Massage ended in Phoenix for a few years because of marriage and honoring my husband’s wishes. After a lengthy divorce I moved home to Texas in 2014. After finding another college for massage to renew my license I found the Texas Chapter of massage therapy in Houston Tx and took another 800 hour course for my Texas license. After graduating and getting licensed in Texas, I have been happily practicing my craft and learning in Texas for the last 8 years! I also hold a medical assistant license and enjoy the urgent care clinic to keep me on my toes with anatomy and physiology!

What brings you peace?
I find peace in nature, especially anywhere next to the water. I’ll take the beach, lake, or pool!
What is your favorite massage to give?
I enjoy helping people feel better, physically and mentally. I believe massage is real therapy that can significantly improve your wellbeing.
Professional Bio
Since becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2009 I have continued learning and expanding my range of specialties in this ever changing, fascinating field to improve not only physical wellness but mental wellness too. I started learning the basics of Swedish and deep tissue massage at Academy for Massage Therapy Training (AMTT) San Antonio and have continued taking various courses throughout my career. I’m well versed in modalities including using hot stones, vacuum cupping, gua sha, and stretching techniques to assist in the various approaches to a clients needs, including prenatal clients, clients with chronic conditions, and anyone combining massage therapy with physical/occupational therapy. I enjoy working on clients with specific needs to develop a wellness plan to improve the quality of physical fitness, mobility and function.
But what I have discovered during my 15 years working with people is how connected our mental/emotional wellness is linked to the body and how stress and tension can manifest itself into debilitating pain. Therefore I developed a 90 minute session specifically to address stress/tension relief by first setting the focus and mindset on the intent of the session and guiding my clients through gentle breathing exercises and light stretching combined with a medium pressure and slow movement during the massage to improve relaxation.
I must say that even after all this time there’s still more to learn and explore! But it’s the connections I make with clients to improve their general well being that truly make this career rewarding and keeps me wanting to pursue this path.

Yajaira
In Memoriam
Yajaira

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved friend and colleague, Yajaira, on October 22nd during a surgery. This unexpected news has left us in shock as we anticipated her return to MTBK.
Yajaira radiated kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her lively personality brightened every space, enhanced by her charming smile and unique style—often featuring chic glasses and eye-catching earrings. She exuded elegance and grace effortlessly.
She enjoyed music festivals, camping trips, and tasty treats like chocolate and gelato. A lover of gardening, baking, DIY projects, treasure-hunting at TJ Maxx, she treasured moments spent with family and friends.
Her dedication shone through in her work; Yajaira consistently sought new techniques to elevate her massage therapy skills while genuinely caring for each client. Her most recent training was in back walking and she loved doing Thai Stretching on her clients.
She leaves behind her husband Art, stepson, parents, two sisters, and a brother. We will honor her memory by remaining strong and positive—qualities that defined her grace and courage.
